Thanks for the informative, easy-to-read article. I am currently deciding whether or not to travel to Israel and work on a kibbutz. This was a helpful and enjoyable. custom smiley

I was on Tel Katzir from October 1983 to January 1884. Probably responsible for bringing Punk Rock/Goth/Psychobilly music to the Kibbuttz had a great time met a lot of wonderful people and thoroughly enjoyed myself! Worked on the bananas, kitchens and chicken sheds. Where did the ostriches come from ? Because i don't remember them!

I went there with my mate Steve from Swansea in South Wales who unfortunately died from cancer in 2006.

We were two South Wales Punks just out having fun and responsible for the grafitti on the bunker bar along with a drunk lad from the East End Of London who added the "up yours shonkers" bit! Sorry about that we did try to stop him!

Shalom! I spent two months at Kibbutz Tel Katzir around Pesach of 1971. It was a great place and left a huge impression on me. I remember hiking in the Golan Heights with the other volunteers. My nickname was "Edie" at the time. custom smiley
